Thank you for your comment. 
And you are right in that the Daycare is there for the parents but it is also there for the children too. Polices such as these are set in place for the safety of the children, that they don't have to be traveling in dangerous conditions as well as risk the harm of their parents in travel also.. 

Let me clarify somethings for you. 

As with most fully licensed daycare centers in the Greater Vancouver Region, all daycares have a similar policy in place in the event of unforeseen weather conditions, that should the schools be closed in the morning, the daycare will be closed as well. 

This policy is in place for the safety of parents and their children as well as the staff who work at the daycare facility. Getting your car stuck in the snow or even worse getting into an accident is not fun at all and can prove to be dangerous. Like wise, our concern is also for our staff and their safety, who also have to travel to the daycare. 

The daycare of course will always remain open if children are present until the safe arrival of parents during the weather conditions. But our goal as with most daycare centers, is to minimize travel during the event of severe weather conditions. 

I hope this brings some clarity as to how our daycare serves both parents and child  in the Greater Vancouver area of Richmond.
